Biography
Jonathan Addis McNamara is a Waco native, with strong ties to the agricultural communities of Bosqueville and China Spring. Prior to law school, Jonathan attended Seattle University in Seattle, Washington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in English Literature. While at Seattle University, Jonathan served as research assistant to Dr. Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs and was inducted into Lambda Iota Tau, the International Honor Society for Students of Literature.
Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. Jonathan was on the Dean’s List for five semesters while attending Thurgood Marshall and earned numerous honors, including the Tax Executive Institute (Houston Chapter) Scholarship; Houston Bar Association Tax Section Scholarship; State Bar of Texas Oil, Gas, & Energy Resources Law Section Scholarship; and CALI awards for the highest grade in both Federal Income Tax and Corporate Tax. After passing the Texas Bar Exam, Jonathan earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Tax Law from the University of Houston Law Center.
In addition to a diverse work history outside the practice of law, Jonathan has legal experience in the preparation of wills, facilitation of property transactions, rendering of tax advice, and representation of both individuals and businesses in a range of complex civil and mass tort litigations involving catastrophic personal injury, chemical exposure, and property damage.
